go beyond normal straight handstand and challenge both body and mind.

-ability to balance
- Press to handstand
- Beginnings of the ONE-ARM handstand
MASTER CLASS
The "Master Class" workshop focuses primarily on the one-arm handstand.
Topics include a series of advanced two-armed handstand and balance sequences.
The workshop is specially designed to perfect technical details (position, support and control).
Here we work out your progress together for all phases
one-armed handstands and additional exercises.
What should I bring to the workshop?
• Bring any questions you have and I'll try to explain my own experiences to you.
• Change of clothes if you sweat a lot and things to wear if it gets cold
• something to write about
• a small, light snack between meals
• enough water
Can I film or take photos?
Yes, please ! It's my nature to share a lot of information, sometimes too much for the moment. If filming or taking photos helps you, just go for it!
Why can't more than 10 people come?
I rarely work with more than 10 people when it comes to teaching handstands.
With larger groups I have the feeling that I am no longer there individually for each individual
to be able to be and there is the danger of losing the overview.
I always want to be able to use my eyes during a lesson
to have with each individual and to be able to walk safely. Furthermore, in this group size I have the opportunity to answer questions individually. In rare occasions ofcourse i work with larger groups i.e. if thers a local soports gym hireing me to teach.
Will I survive a 3h workshop?
short answer, yes! The death rate due to my workshops is 0%.
Usually we will have introductory talks for the first 30 minutes to 1 hour and warm up until we get on the Hands. There will a varity of situations where we all sit and disguss questiond and exercises of the workshop
In addition, a general full body stretching will be part of the warm-up.
Then we dive into handstands, which is a mix of work on hands, holding solo, with partners, sharing with each other, mixed with consistently appropriate breaks. This is how we keep up a suitable training quota.
All in all, it is a very manageable workload due to the work in pairs and the explanations and demonstrations every about 20 minutes on my part. Of course, it is essential to always listen to your own body and take the appropriate breaks.
I did a workshop but it feels like it like I'm just not making any progress.
Should I just take part in a workshop again?
Handstands take time and there are always challenges at work that need to be mastered. I always say: "It taks a lifetime to really master the Handstand" A workshop is more about deeper understanding of the matter then going out of it and being like "wow i really learnd everything in these 2-3h becaus i was under the magical Aura of David". There are moments when things just work all of a sudden because a gave you the words you needet or you learned a specific think thes was missing in your training.
Don't worry, everyone run into their nemesis over and over again and has to keep motivating themselves to keep that "I can't do it "yet" attitude. In the end handstand is a journey and you should enjoy that, sucsess comes from working consistent every day, especially on the days you are not motivated and not feeling it.
Enjoy the way. Perfection is a one-way street, im happy to sit down and work with you on your progress, maybe you need different words or just another unit to be held in.
I'm not sure if I'm a beginner or intermediate workshops. I'm kinda in between...
since you are asking me i'd say, come to the beginner's workshop. I don't think the exercises will be below your level and you'll stand there afterwards and think "well that shit was a waste of time".
There are endless variations for all exercises that can bring you to your limits and thus progress in your handstand journey and in a beginner workshop I will be able to take more individual time for you.
If you are still unsure, just write me and send me a video of your handstand
and we'll see together which workshop suits you best.
I don't want to learn a handstand at all, should I come anyway?
I'm really nice and money doesn't stink. So if you ask me, sure be my guest! Kidding....im kidding, dont be stupid, everyone wants to learn the Handstand you just dont know it jet.
I don't have the requirements for any of the workshops you offer,
but I still want to participate. What do you say?
I say no, better not. It makes little sense if you participate, even if you imagine getting more information, since you probably haven't yet understood fundamental elements, which then means that you can't do anything with the information meaning i have to explain too extensively, so you can use the information. Also, I don't think it would be fair for someone of the right level to have to invest so much time in this situation.
I think that private lessons make a lot more sense for you.
Why are the costs so different for the courses and workshops?
For me, the travel time, the stay time, costs at the location are always an individual difference. (Of course it is clear that I have to pay a lot more in Frankfurt than in a small town).
Furthermore, I always want to keep the costs as low as possible for the individual and so it varies. It's best if you come to my place in town. This is usually the cheapest.
Can children also take part in a workshop?
I usually separate children and adults.
Children need different ways of thinking and training than adults and it is neither beneficial for one nor for the other when it comes to handstand workshops in particular to work across all ages. If a child who is super enthusiastic about acrobatics wants to learn handstand or is already advanced, it makes sense to take individual lessons or to come to a lesson at our local youth circus, which I also teach, among other things.
